Est. West Los Angeles
Six people per session.
Not a class. Never was.
Personal training in West Los Angeles, conducted in groups of no more than six, on programs written by a coach for one person at a time. Members are typically between thirty-five and seventy. Most arrive after a long absence from training, several after being advised to stop lifting altogether. They are, without exception, the reason this studio exists.

The floor, 6:04am
Rack detail
Quiet, uncrowded, and deliberately unfashionable.
There is no wall of mirrors, no queue for a rack, and no music loud enough to prevent a conversation about your hip. The floor is arranged for coaching: racks along one wall, turf down the middle, an InBody scanner in the corner that quietly settles most arguments about progress.
We are on Olympic with our own lot — a detail that sounds trivial until you have circled a boutique studio in Santa Monica for eleven minutes at seven in the morning.

Turf lane
Photography placeholder. To be replaced with the studio shoot — interiors, coaching hands, and members at work rather than stock imagery.
Four movements, repeated for as long as you train here.
The system is unglamorous and has not changed materially since 1992, because it continues to work on the bodies of adults with careers, children and prior injuries.
- 01
Assessment
An InBody scan and a seven-position movement screen establish where you actually are, not where a questionnaire says you should be.
- 02
Prescription
A coach writes twelve weeks for you — your history, your restrictions, and the number of days you can genuinely commit.
- 03
Coaching
You train your program alongside five others running theirs. The coach's attention is on execution: position, tempo, load.
- 04
Revision
Every fourth week the program is rewritten against fresh measurements. Progress, plateau, travel, injury — the plan moves with you.
Four coaches. Twenty-nine years between them.
The industry replaces trainers constantly. We do not. Continuity is the reason a coach here can recall what you lifted last March and which shoulder to watch this morning.
01Marcus ReyesStudio Director · NASM-CPT · Corrective Exercise+
Spent six years in big-box gyms before deciding he was done writing the same program for everybody. Coaches the 6:00a crowd and remembers every knee, shoulder and travel schedule in the room.
“Nobody gets a program off a shelf here. Not on day one, not in year three.”
11 years coaching · favours trap-bar deadlifts
02Priya AnandHead Coach · CSCS · Pre/Postnatal+
Former collegiate rower who now specializes in getting people strong around old injuries. If you have been told to 'just stop lifting,' she will politely disagree and then show you why.
“Strong at 55 is a completely different conversation than strong at 25. We coach the one you're in.”
8 years coaching · favours split squats (sorry)
03Devon ClarkeCoach · ACE-CPT · Nutrition Coach+
The person who will text you when you miss a Tuesday. Runs the nutrition check-ins and keeps the whiteboard PR list honest.
“The plan you actually do beats the perfect plan every single time.”
6 years coaching · favours sled pushes
04Sam WhitfieldCoach · NASM-CPT · TRX+
Came in as a member at 42, lost 30 pounds, got certified, never left. Best person in the building at making a first session feel like nothing to be nervous about.
“I was the guy on the intro session with the clipboard and the nerves. I get it.”
4 years coaching · favours farmer carries
“I joined because I got winded on the stairs at LAX. Two years in, I did three weeks in Japan, all my own luggage, no complaints. The coaches know my knee better than my doctor does.”
“I had a trainer before who counted reps and looked at his phone. Here someone is actually coaching. My doctor asked what I changed and I said I show up three mornings a week and someone tells me what to do.”
“I had never touched a barbell. I assumed a gym was for the twenty-year-olds in the mirror. There are five other people in my session and every one of us is over fifty.”
“We tried the class-studio thing and got hurt. This is the first place that programmed around my shoulder instead of pretending it wasn't there.”
Member accounts are placeholders pending written permission and final wording. Where a result is quantified, it will be a figure the studio can substantiate.

Answered plainly
- Is this a class or is it personal training?
- It is personal training that happens to be in a room with up to five other people. Everyone in the session is running their own program on their own weights. Nobody is counting to eight at the front of the room.
- I haven't trained in years. Am I going to be the worst one there?
- Most people walk in from a long break, an injury, or a desk job. Your first four weeks are built off your movement screen, not off what the person next to you is lifting.
- What does it cost?
- Membership depends on how many sessions a week you train. We will walk you through exact pricing at the Starting Point Session, before you are asked to decide anything. No contracts hidden in the fine print.
- How long is a session?
- 55 minutes, and it starts on time. Most members train two to three times a week.
One appointment, no obligation, and a written plan you keep.
The Starting Point Session lasts about an hour and costs nothing. You will speak with a coach, be measured, move a little, and leave with twelve weeks written down — whether or not you choose to train here.
